Promoter From raves to celebrity cricket games, from boxing to race nights, if you want an event organised to raise yourself or your organisation a few quid then look no further than Steve Wraith. Over the last decade i have promoted numerous events to raise money for charity and launched other events covering a wide spectrum. The charity that i support is the Bubble Foundation which is based at Newcastle General Hospital. The unit cares for babies born with a bone marrow difficiency. From the moment they are born they are battling diseases and need special care and attention. That is where the Bubble Foundation is vital in support for the babies and there families. Any future events will be plugged on this page on the site. Geordiemission This was a club night that was launched in the late nineties by Steve and Rob Wraith based at Planet Earth Nightclub in Newcastle Upon Tyne. With resident Dj's Carl Douglas, Dave Liddle, Andi Lucas, James Maccoy and Batesy the predominantly trance night grew from strength to strength until the untimely demise of the club in the millenium. The lads tried in vain to negotiate a new venue but were unable to agree terms and conditions with anywhere suitable. The Geordiemission name is copyrighted and may make a return in a club near you soon. Players Incorporated Steve promotes former Newcastle United striker Joe Allon with various football legends at shows up and down the North East Of England. Former professional Gary Firby is currently the Northern Champion and is a throwback to the old fighters in the way that he despatches his opponents to the canvas. Gary won his title in one of the hardest fights of his career against journeyman Steve 'The Welshman' Yorath. You can see some of Garys greatest hits and the night he was crowned champion on video. Gary Firby (Above) The Felling Ashes The Felling Ashes inaugral year was 2003. Steve decided to to invite various stars from the world of boxing and football to play in a round robin charity cricket game. Aswell as the team of stars Felling Football Club,Duke Of Cumberland Football Club and Felling Cricket Club all submit teams to play in this charity event which primarilly raises money for Steves favourite charity the Bubble Appeal. Over the years donations have also been made to The Grace House Appeal and Gateshead Football Club. In the first year Dukes Mark Walker 'borrowed' the umpires coat and it was Steves suggestion that it be burnt to ashes and stored in an urn. After scouring ebay for a suitable urn similar to the one used in the famous 'ashes' Steve found one, and the kind people at 'JustSport' sponsored the plinth and the 'Felling Ashes' were well and truly born. The Felling Ashes take place at Felling Cricket Club, High Heworth Lanes every May. Previous
