I'm proud to say that i have made the aqquaintance of a very talented man. Pete Moffat. We have only known each other for a short space of time but have very similar interests. The Sex Pistols and The Krays to name but two. Pete has a rare talent for drawing and painting. His images of the Twins are second to none, i'm sure you will agree. If you want a particular painting done with maybe yourself with the twins or another gangland legend email me at thegeordieconnection@hotmail.com and we will get back to you with a price. Pete will take on any kind of work so please don't hesitate to ask.

My name is Pete Moffat. Born in Scotland in 1965. Coming from a broken home,I ended up in an Approved school in Dundee age 1977. It was there that I found my love of drawing and painting. I entered into a competition whilst there.painting a portrait and logo of London's Sex Pistols! and won! On release in 1981 I was handed a book from a mate from Inverness(Ian Grant R.I.P). That book was The Profession Of Violence/The Rise And Fall Of The Kray Twins by John Pearson. This book moved something in me. Sure villans always attract a young boys imagination. Violence, guns, knives, fists, and a code! I think we are naturaly drawn to it owing to the fights and trouble we get into as boys! Playing good guy/bad guy games when our Sisters are dressing their doll, and wearing their Mothers shoes with their friends! Anyway,,I was married very young! and my ex-wifes Mother knew the Twins through her late Brother Davy. Davy live in Bedford and worked in and around London on the railway lines! Davy went out for a drink one night in the early '60's! And in a bar he he met Reggie Kray sitting alone(no firm),he got talking to him explaining he wasn't from London, but Bedford. He had heard of the Twins, but never knew he was talking too untill he spoke of his twin Brother in jail. The realisation of whom he was sat with gave him the fright of his life! A year later Davy met the other half of Reggie! Anyway years later in 1982 I read that the Twins were to be esscorted to their Mothers funeral. And (for me) seeing the news footage of them arriving was hair raising! That was me hooked on the legend that is the Kray Twins. Getting back to the paintings...I've always drawn, modeled, and painted. It has only been in the last two years that I took it up again. And the image of the Twins seamed very bold on canvas in my mind. So I did one, then another, and so on.. I only recently done a personalised painting for Steve,at his request. And was glad I did. I have a few Kray paintings and more in production which Steve will be adding to the site! I'm always looking for new ideas to better my work. So any ideas? Please feel free to express them to either Steve or myself...

The Signpost

The canvas is 2'6" x 3'9", and is rendered in acrylic paint in shades of black white and greay, applied with a pallette knife to give a heavily textured look. It is produced on a boxy wooden frame, and the image is wrapped around the sides, therefore requiring no need for further framing. It is shipped in a custom made box, by courier, and can be tracked throughout. Shipping costs £20 within the UK. Mimi is a Surrey based artist, specialising in bold, iconic images past and present, presented as large impressive canvasses. She has sold her works throughout the UK and also overseas. Anyone wanting to purchase the artwork contact Steve at thegeordieconnection@hotmail.com

Ronnie Kray 24th October 1933 - 17th March 1995.

Invictus

OUT of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Rest in peace Ron!
